Your Bespoke Jewellery Process
1. The Buzz Begins: Consultation & Conceptualization
Consultation: Our journey begins with an initial call or an in-person meeting at my Stratford studio. During this session, we'll discuss your vision, ideas, and any specific requirements you have for your bespoke piece.
Personal Touch: If you keep bees, we can incorporate beeswax from your hives into the carving process, adding a unique and deeply personal element to your jewellery.
Design Fee: Should you decide to move forward after our initial discussion, a design fee of £250 is required. This fee covers the creation of a comprehensive design pack, which includes detailed project specifications, design inspirations, and projected costs. Please note that this fee is deducted from the final cost of your jewellery.
2. Bee-coming Your Vision: Design & Development
Design Pack: Once the design fee is paid, I'll create and share the design pack with you. This document will outline various design options, metal and stone selections, and projected final costs.
Feedback & Refinement: You'll have the opportunity to review the designs and provide feedback. If one design resonates with you, we'll proceed with that choice.
Securing the Project: To move forward, a deposit of 50% of the final cost is required. This deposit allows me to secure any necessary stone options and begin the crafting process.
3. From Hive to Heirloom: Crafting & Delivery
Crafting Your Piece: I will then begin the intricate process of carving your design into beeswax using traditional 6000-year-old techniques before casting it into your chosen metal, whether silver or gold or platinum.
Progress Updates: Throughout the creation process, I'll keep you updated with photos so you can see your piece come to life. Process normally takes 4-8 weeks from design confirmation, however if a more urgent delivery is required, please contact me at info@sjsnow.co.uk
Final Payment & Delivery: Once the piece is complete, the remaining balance is due. You can choose to receive your finished jewellery in person at my Stratford studio or via secure courier delivery.
I’m excited to collaborate with you on your special piece, whether it’s an engagement ring, wedding bands, or a timeless heirloom. Together, we’ll create something truly unique, using the ancient art of beeswax carving to ensure your jewellery transcends time.
